It all started six years ago.
The year was 2001, the clothing manufacturing industry in New York was bleak; factory owners were struggling to look for alternatives, better ways to support their families and lives. And Diamond Master, Carmen Xie was no exception. As a factory owner, she found herself in a business that might collapse at any moment. She must think and plan ahead. When her friends introduced her to some of the multi-level marketing companies available at the time, she was interested, but leery.
“New York City is a place where people are often skeptical about multi-level marketing companies,” Carmen said. “They are scared of the pushy marketing techniques that are used by some independent distributors, and they don’t like to be pressured. There is a general phobia among the people of New York when it comes to MLM businesses.”
But Carmen was determined. “I was more concerned about the quality of the products than making money,” she said. “What I wanted was a long-term business relationship, not a trendy, get-rich-quick scheme that could go out of vogue any time. I was looking at what I could be in ten years, not three months.”
When she signed on as an E. Excel Distributor, the first thing Carmen did was try the products. “I could not sell anything I had not tried. The wisest thing to do first was to take care of my family’s health problems by using E. Excel products,” she said.
After only three months of consuming E. Excel products, Carmen was able to feel a difference in her body; her long history of pollen allergies disappeared. Her husband, Jian Xie, who had difficulty reaching a healthy weight also felt a significant improvement after a few months of taking E. Excel products. He had more energy and did not tire easily anymore, reaching an ideal weight in just three months.
Perhaps the most dramatic experience for Carmen was her 12-year-old son’s experience with proteinuria, the excessive secretion of protein in urine due to kidney problems. After a few months of consuming Refresh™, Millennium™, and W•L.™, Michael Xie’s urine protein count was normal again.
“People then started to ask me about my family’s improved health, and when that happened, I instantly recognized that the perfect opportunity to introduce E. Excel to my friends had finally come,” Carmen said. “But I had yet to convince my skeptic father about the benefits of Nutritional Immunology.”
Carmen’s father suffered from high blood pressure and high cholesterol, and did not think much of herbal products. He relied on his doctor, who had told him that herbal medicine could never alleviate any of his symptoms.
But Carmen was adamant about correcting the doctor. “I quickly told him that E. Excel products are not medicine; instead, they support the immune system, which in turn, protects the body,” Carmen said. After years of non-improvement, her father’s doctor finally told him the products couldn’t hurt.
“Needless to say, after only months of drinking Millennium™, my father’s health improved dramatically,” Carmen said. “He is no longer a skeptic but a believer.”
All the goodness aside, Carmen still does not consider her E. Excel journey a smooth ride. “I had my struggles and challenges,” she said. “For example, it was never easy talking to people about a product or company they had never even heard of. I could not have achieved my goals without hard work and patience. This is a business that requires a lot of perseverance and heart.”
To Carmen, E. Excel is not only a business but an aspiration. “I consider myself a practical businesswoman, but at the same time, I’ve also always wanted to help others achieve a better life,” she said. “E. Excel makes it possible for me to do both.”
Carmen never thinks of herself as successful. To her, success is subjective; it could mean many things. “To be successful in E. Excel is to have a caring heart. Don’t worry about the money,” she said. “When you use your heart, the money will automatically follow.”
“Dr. Chen once told us,” Carmen continued, “we should not be salespeople but teachers. Money cannot buy good health. What we need is trust—an important element in this business.”
Many of her friends were impressed by her endurance and her accomplishment in the E. Excel business. Carmen said, “there is no miracle, what it takes is to have the right attitude.”
Today, Carmen owns an independent E. Excel business facility in the hub of New York City’s Chinatown. She holds frequent seminars on Nutritional Immunology and plans to become a Diamond Ambassador within five years.
To all E. Excellers out there, Carmen advised: “Never pester people into joining the business. Give them their free agency, and let them decide without pressure. The beauty and effectiveness of Nutritional Immunology alone will draw them to the business.”
