Jade Master, Dr. Su Xiao Li
Planning for Success

Portrait.jpgWhen it comes to health products, Jade Master, Dr. Su Xiao Li, a trained medical doctor, believes they must be able to improve one’s health without any long-term side effects. And when it comes to business, she believes in planning, execution and following up, which are reasons why she joined E. Excel in the first place.

After giving E. Excel products a try, Dr. Li recognized right away that E. Excel products are natural foods that work together with the body to promote a stronger immune system and optimum health with no side effects. “Not all health products are created equal,” she mused, “and E. Excel products rise above all others I know of in the market. But what’s more wonderful is the business opportunity that E. Excel offers, which is limitless and very rewarding.”

One of many successful leaders in Toronto, Dr. Li admits that the journey to success has not always been easy. In fact, according to her, success in E. Excel requires a lot of patience and proper planning. “For example,” Dr. Li explains, “people are often more focused on immediate results than long-term prevention. As a result, they tend to look for medicine to cure their symptoms. But as an E. Excel Distributor, my job is to show them how Nutritional Immunology works and educate them. It is important for people to know that E. Excel products are not medicine or miracle cures; they are merely wholesome foods that nourish our body. And doing this requires patience.”

lisuxiao8.jpgSolving her Downlines’ concerns is also a big part of being a leader, she says. “Take the subject of price increase as an example,” she elaborates. “Whenever my Downlines pop the question concerning product price increase, I always ask them to look at the bigger picture. What is a few more dollars compared to your health and the financial reward you will be getting? It’s all about communication. We need to help our Distributors understand the importance of working hand in hand with the company, and understanding all of the changes that comes from it. In fact, I believe strongly in constant communication between Uplines and Downlines, which if carried out, yields great results.”

To Dr. Li, the proper care of Downlines is one contributing factor to achieving success in E. Excel. Because she travels to China for six months every year, she has to make sure her Downlines are strong and independent while she is gone. “It doesn’t matter where you are in the business, if you don’t continue to support and help your Downlines, nothing will work for you,” she says.

lisuxiao2.jpgAs a leader, Dr. Li is all about effective planning. “I work closely with my Downlines and help them come up with specific goals within the business,” she says. “I call them often to follow up on their goals and to give them a better perspective of everything in their business in the long run. My job is to help them see the bigger picture.” This way, she will also be able to eliminate confusion and miscommunication.

Dr. Li follows up on her Downlines’ short-term and long-term goals. And if a goal needs to be set, she makes sure she helps set it. “First, I ask my Distributors what they want to accomplish with E. Excel. Second, I ask them how much time they expect to reach their goals, both long and short term. And third, I ask them how they plan to execute their goals,” she says. By asking these questions, she is able to help her Distributors focus on the tasks at hand and work toward a long-term achievement. After these guiding questions, she works on following up and encouraging her Distributors to meet their goals.
“I also treat company referrals very seriously,” Dr. Li continues. “Whenever E. Excel refers me to new referrals, I jump on it immediately and invite them over to my clinic for a free health evaluation. It is during these health evaluations that I seize the opportunity and introduce them to E. Excel and its products.”

“There’s a lot of planning and executing in this business,” she explains. “For example, by just asking how many people my Distributors have contacted within a certain period of time, I am able to help them keep track of their goals. I am also able to gauge their strengths and weaknesses. If we don’t continue to do this with our Distributors, sooner or later, they will become stagnant.”

One thing that Dr. Li emphasizes a lot to her Distributors is attitude and image. “You can’t just go out and try to do the business without the right attitude and image,” she says. “You can’t sell health when you look sick, and you definitely can’t sell success when you don’t look like a successful business person. That’s why I urge all my Distributors to exercise and be physically active. The spirit of E. Excel is spreading good health, and it has to start with you.” First impressions speak louder than words. “What you say does not matter if you don’t present yourself well. An E. Excel Distributor must emulate success, health and happiness. That’s my first rule of business.”

In her eleven years as an E. Excel Distributor, Dr. Li has seen many new Distributors who are only active in their first three months. These Distributors are looking to make a lot of money quickly, and when their commission checks are not what they had in mind, they give up. This is because they lack long-term planning and goals; they lack a proper sense of direction. “Many new Distributors join the business thinking that they are going to get quick money,” Su Xiao continues. “They need to treat E. Excel as a career, not a side job.”

The way Dr. Li sees it, an E. Excel career is much bigger than a job; it encompasses everything—service, progress, passion, freedom, business and health—and it does not fail easily. All a Distributor needs to do to keep moving upward is work with effective planning, goal setting and execution, which, she reminds, contributes to the proper and much needed care of Downlines!
