Excellence Healthcare and the West Clinic Excellence Cancer Center

In 2004, Dr Jau-Fei Chen took preventive science a step further by establishing the Excellence Healthcare clinic in Singapore. A trailblazer in the healthcare industry, Excellence Healthcare was the first clinic in Asia to provide PET, PT and CT scans all under one roof and to perform Presbyopia LASIK surgery. Furthermore, it was the first clinic in the region to offer telemedicine.

Then, on October 12, 2006, Excellence Healthcare teamed up with The West Clinic to officially open the doors of The West Clinic Excellence Cancer Center. With over 25 years of expertise, The West Clinic is one of the most trusted and leading cancer centers in the United States, with offices in Tennessee and Mississippi. Excellence Healthcare scored a major coup in being the first in Asia to win a strategic collaboration with The West Clinic. Through this joint venture with The West Clinic, Excellence Healthcare brings The West Clinic’s philosophy of community-based oncology to Singapore, now more conveniently located all under one roof, and closer to patients in the region.

A pivotal player in cancer research, The West Clinic has given many patients hope with the latest and most effective treatments and therapies. The synergies between The West Clinic’s cancer research and E. Excel’s Nutritional Immunology research spell great news for the field of preventive medicine.

The West Clinic Excellence Cancer Center is the first cancer center outside North America to participate in a network of oncology centers through the Accelerated Community Oncology Research Network (ACORN), a US-based organization representing over 150 oncology investigators working on a broad range of clinical trials for most major cancer types.

Dr. Lee S. PACE enhances patient care and improves quality of life through a comprehensive exchange of information between patient and physician at point-of-care via touch screen, wireless e/Tablets called Patient Care Monitors™. In addition, PACE offers access to the Cancer Support Network™, a comprehensive patient education and information repository.

Helming the Center is its Medical Director, Dr. Steven Tucker, a leading medical oncologist who has relocated from Los Angeles to Singapore. Dr. Tucker is widely recognized for his work in prostate cancer, being the former Director of the Prostate & Genitourinary Oncology Program at The Angeles Clinic & Research Institute in Santa Monica, California. Although his personal area of special interest is prostate cancer, he is also well versed in the treatment of all cancers. He previously served as an Attending Physician at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at the UCLA School of Medicine.

Also based full-time in Singapore is the Center’s Director of Oncology Nursing and Clinic Operations, Nancy Bailey. Ms Bailey is the former Director of Research at The West Clinic (US) and an oncology nurse practitioner.
